Maybe its because I came from the days of film, before the digital era. There is something about the feel of black and white, its romantic especially with wedding portraits. Black and white wedding photos to me will always standout. Now I wouldn't photograph and entire wedding black and white but I could most of it. But with today's technology you photograph the whole wedding in color and just convert the best into black and white. These black and white wedding portraits were taken at Kamehameha Schools in Kalihi on Oahiu and on the North Shore Haleiwa on Oahu. Congradulation Paulina & Sonny!

Hawaii Photographer ~Yellow Ohi‘a LehuaHere is the yellow Ohi'a Lehua. These flowers are so beautiful. And these yellow Ohi'a Lehua were taken in the early morning on the slopes of Mauna Kea at Kukaiau Ranch in Pa'auilo, on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island.

Here is a photo of the wedding bouquet, some of these wedding bouguest are really simple but yet very beautiful. This one was taken at sunset at Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu. Note that this images had very little post processing done the saturation was light bumped up but nothing else after that. My one flash was set off to the right side.

Hawaii Photographer ~ Orange Ohi‘a LehuaI never really seen an Orange Ohi‘a Lehua before or maybe I never took notice it of them growing up on the Big Island, but recently I took a series Ohi'a Lehua, red, yellow and oragne. They are such a beautiful flower. Below is an Orange Ohi'a Lehua and a Red Ohi'a Lehua. More pix to come... Note that these Ohi'a Lehua were taken on the slopes of Mauna Kea at Kukaiau Ranch in Pa'auilo, on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island, the same place as Hawaiian Legacy Tours.

These are just a few of my favorite images from this shoot. These Koa trees are old growth and a few of them are over a hundred years old.

LiquidLightImages…Hawaii Photographer Hawaii Photographer ~ Green Magazine Hawaii "Koa Makes A Comeback"At the ending of January this year 2016, Green Magazine Hawaii ask me to photograph an editorial of Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative on the slopes of Mauna Kea at Kukaiau Ranch in Pa'auilo, on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island. This is a 1,200 acre Koa reforesting program, all I can say is it was beautiful and I learned a lot. I took a tour with Hawaiian Legacy Tours that educates visitors on what Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative is doing. I would encourage everyone to take this tour, locals and visitors.
