At the ending of January this year 2016, Green Magazine Hawaii ask me to photograph an editorial of Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative on the slopes of Mauna Kea at Kukaiau Ranch in Pa'auilo, on the Hamakua coast of the Big Island.  This is a 1,200 acre Koa reforesting program, all I can say is it was beautiful and I learned a lot.   I took a tour with Hawaiian Legacy Tours that educates visitors on what Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative is doing.  I would encourage everyone to take this tour, locals and visitors.  When I took the tour I even got to plant my own Koa tree, it was cool.  You can even track your tree, click here to see the location of my tree.  Please read the article:  https://issuu.com/greenmagazinehawaii/docs/gmh_v8_2
