Elegance On The Edge…

FAQ’s

Why is choosing the right photographer important?
When planning your wedding, it is important to realize that your photographer will be your most intimate vendor. Typically the photographer(s) will be with you on your special day from hair and make-up, to the ceremony, to the reception. It is important that you choose someone you are comfortable with and someone who has knowledge of how to assist with coordination. We have seen many couples experience stress on that day when the small details are missed. We help to ensure that we capture the moments that make your day memorable while at the same time helping you to stay on schedule.

What can I do to ensure I take the best photos on my wedding day?
We recommend plenty of rest the night before and staying hydrated throughout the day. Although the days leading up to the wedding may include spa time, we advise against facials and massages the few days prior. Because toxins in the body are being stimulated and released, this may result in changes in your body and skin that are undesirable.  Brides often hire a make-up/hair artist for a few hours while they get ready. If possible, inquire about full-day services with your MUA to allow for touch-ups throughout the day.  In addition, having a coordinator or friend you can trust to help with set-up and details will ensure you a stress-free spirit and allow you to enjoy your day which will be evident in your photos.

What additional services do you provide for Brides and Grooms?
We offer the following services:
Bridal Boudoir:  An intimate photo session, something special that you give as a gift to your husband to be.
Engagement session:  A casual layback session prior to your wedding day.
Pre-Wedding session:  This is a formal session that is usually done a few days up to a week before the wedding day.
Post-Wedding session:  This is a formal session that is usually a few days after the wedding day.
Trash The Dress:  This is a very creative no holds bar session, it’s all about having fun.
Underwater (in and around the water) session:  This is a session that most of the times is combined with a Trash The Dress or Engagement session.

How long will it take to get my images?

Do you provide the digital files for the couple?
Most of the time yes, it is called “Printable Rights”.

What is a digital negative?
A RAW file is referred to as a digital negative.  It is an unprocessed file with raw data.  Not very pretty to look it.

Do you provide the RAW files?
No, Raw files are unprocessed, all images (files) that are acceptable for release by me the photographer will have had basic editing done (post processing) and will come in a JPEG format and/or TIFF format, depending on the agreement.  Giving RAW files would be like giving you rolls of film that have not been processed at the lab.  Back in the days of shooting film, no professional photographer would just give you rolls of film.  Same thing today, giving RAW files is like giving you a job half done.  And even though we don’t like to admit it, there are mistakes that we make and we don’t want the public to see them.

What is the difference between a RAW, TIFF and JPEG?
RAW = unprocessed, not developed file.
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) = is standard in the printing and publishing industry.  It is superior file to that of JPEG.  It will be the closest you can get to a RAW file.  TIFF is not good for email and websites, file is too large.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group) = is a compressed file, ok for printing but not ok for file manipulation over and over again.  Good for email, websites, proofs, Facebook, etc.

Who owns the Copyrights?
I the photographer Aaron Bernard and/or LiquidLightImages own the Copyrights.  You the client will have “Printable Rights”, this allows you to reproduce images for personal usage.

How long in advance should be book?
9-12 months is good, we will book as far out as 18 months.  Bookings are done on a first come first serve base.

Do you allow family & Friends to take photos?
Yes, as long as they do not disrupt or get in the way of me doing my job.  Please note that we do not allow other professional photographer to shoot alongside us.

How do we reserve your services?
A 30% non-refundable “Reservation Fee” is required to secure your wedding date along with a signed wedding contract.  The remainder is due no later than 30 days before your wedding date.

Are you available for sunrise/morning weddings?
Yes.

What method of payment do you take?
We accept cash, check, credit cards, and PayPal.

How much time should we allot for taking pictures as a couple?
At minimum 1 hour, more is better.  A good time to do this is before the ceremony at which we do what is called the “First Look”.
